Hey Friends and happy September!
I just had to pop in and show you this amazing Fancy Maple we are cutting into! This is part of the wood we've been waiting on to finish drying. We don't have any very large pieces dry enough to work with yet, but starting to be able to make some small items from it. Isn't it just astoundingly beautiful? What a gift to be able to find local fallen wood like this to work with.
Of course, I couldn't take pictures of these gorgeous scoops without including fresh eggs and flowers. I'm hanging on to summer with all my might and main, which is a new phenomenon for me since I'm usually dying for fall weather. This year is different because we've put so much energy into our gardens and I am so not ready for them to freeze up and turn brown and twiggy.
The last week or so I've felt a shift in the weather for sure. It feels good, but I'm praying for no frosts for a while. How is the weather where you live? And what do you think of this wood!? Drop a comment below and let me know :)
